#1 – Paddle Faster

Pick your paddle — kayak, canoe, raft or stand-up paddleboard — and our experienced local outfitters will get you pointed downstream! Prefer not to “work” on your vacation? Rent a tube, kick up your feet and float lazily down the Toccoa.

#3 – Shoot-to-Thrill

Tank Town has added some firepower to the menu with an M-1919 machine gun. Sign up for 100 rounds of fully automatic fun. Then, thunder around the track in a fully functional tank. There are plenty of bumps, dips and humps. Add a car crush and flatten a car with 17 tons of military steel.

#4 – Climb Higher

Experience high-flying fun at Blue Ridge Adventure Park, where you’ll surf the “Flying Kayak” and tackle obstacles while 30 feet in the air. Or, experience the mountains from the treetops with Ocoee Ziplines & Canopy Tours or Zipline Canopy Tours of Blue Ridge (be sure to ask about raft & zip combos for a full day of adventure).

There’s nothing better than homegrown and handmade — and that’s exactly what you’ll find at our local farmers markets. Shop for honey, baked goods, fresh produce, handmade arts & crafts and much more. The Downtown Blue Ridge Market sets up on Saturday mornings in front of the Fannin County courthouse. In Blairsville, the Union County Farmers Market is open Tuesday afternoons and Saturday mornings through October.

BONUS #6 – 5 More Places to Get Farm Fresh Goods

There’s just no beating “farm fresh” — whether you’re picking plump blueberries at a local berry patch or choosing vine-ripened tomatoes at a bustling farmers market. You’ll find plenty of fresh-off-the-vine opportunities here in North Georgia. Of course, there’s no rushing Mother Nature, so be sure to check with local orchards and farmers markets for up-to-the-minute picking schedules and hours of operation.
